     This Department may be styled in name, after the spiritual ‘Art of Living’. It focuses in contrast however, upon the job-orientated spirited scenario of ‘Event Management’.
      Students are not taught to become Professional Musicians. They are trained instead to get quick and lucrative employment in the new ICE-Age.( ICE age abbreviates for the key notes of the new millennium, namely: Information Technology, Communication & Entertainment.)
       Many a music Student finds that her serious Path to professional performance is, long and arduous. She aims for some employment meanwhile on the side or alongside, her Classical Education. Others with a practical attitude, look for current jobs in the contemporary setting.
       In the Metropolitan World there is an unmistakable niche, for organizing events or auditioning/ rehearsing others for events. These range form professional Music channels, and DJ productions like: Remixed Albums. To lavish public / official functions, or the grand party or the wedding sangeet ceremony.

Subject Details


EVENT MANAGEMENT:
We teach all the essential elements for organizing and the execution of an Event. These may range from elaborate expositions/ fashion shows/ track meets / school functions to wedding sangeeets or parties. The legal implications, costing, budgeting and business details are also explained.

VOCAL MUSIC:
The Human voice has been the oldest and most ancient instrument for mankind. It can often be the most popular medium used for music. Students are taught the basics of Hindustani Classical Music. It is used as a platform to learn/rehearse for tonal shruti / laya and the prospective coordination of tonal scale with other instruments.

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC:
Music instruments of the world range from the transcontinental classical flute or giant church organ to the basic baul ektara. Students have to acquire competence and get acquainted with one bass instrument for their training in rhythm and another wind /string instrument for exponential experience.

HISTORY OF MUSIC:
We teach the great composers, lyricists and performers in the History of Civilization. Contemporary music artists who are making history, both in the classical and film world are also included.

MUSIC HERITAGE:
This Subject demonstrates to our Students how music historically has been interpreted, improvised, imbibed, modified, renewed and even 'stolen' during the course of culture. This includes learning about exciting music eras, cults and pop movements.

MUSIC CHOREOGRAPHY:
The study and practice of the arrangement of music in a holistic manner. That is to attune a particular composition or chorale to the form and visual movements of an act or operatic scheme.

DJ TECHNIQUES:
This subject is not just to make you into a techno club-goer, music channel VJ or hard - core rapper. Nor is it just to acquaints you with trendy equipment . The use and manipulation of electronic devices in fact are taught for Event Management. Practicals in important Turntable Techniques like (scribbling) are also given.

SET DESIGN:
Coordinating and correlating music to the setting, stage and backdrop, of a scenario. . To heighten the drama and ambience of the music by scenarist skills. The tools learnt may be used in a simple School Production to a cramped stall of a Super Mall.

MUSIC APPRECIATION:
This Subject is essential to not only enjoy and make Students sensitive to diverse Music forms. This also equips the Student with articulation skills and how to enthuse others to a particular programme.

MUSIC PRODUCTION :
This is a specialty Subject .It involves coordination of different types or calibres of chords and instruments. Thus the subject ranges form a rock band, baraat to a commercial ad jingle. How easy elegant notes can be made ear splitting /heart rending by tonal placements or remixed to something totally nouveau.

GRAPHIC COMMUNICATION & PR SKILLS:
This Subject has far reaching implications on every facet of student's future vocation. It is useful not only to publicize a show or a forthcoming event but also to acknowledge, promote and sell your own skills to the industry.
