The hostel for girls was started by Vocational Education Society in 1966.This was to cater to the needs of the Outstation Students for a safe and securely surrounded residence. At present South Delhi Polytechnic for Women has a full time Hostel within the campus.
It is fully equipped to accommodate 200 Students. There are 72 rooms. The outstanding feature is that each of these 72 rooms are with an attached Toilet. There are also spacious and elegant dinning Halls, Visitors & T.V. Lounges and its very own Mess. The Hostel has separate Telephone and Fax facilities exclusively for the Students. There are also other recreational facilities like the Internet and Multi-Gym .
The environment in the Hostel is Student - friendly with Medical Facilities. It is staffed by friendly and Motherly Female Wardens. They try to be conscientious and do their utmost for the safety and Welfare of Students. A unique feature of Hostel is the personalized supervision of the Mess to provide healthy and well balanced meals.
Students are allotted Seats at the beginning of the year. Please remember due to an acute shortage of accommodation in Delhi, there is a great demand for Hostel Seats. Parents & Guardians are therefore requested to think twice before applying for a Seat in the Hostel. Hostel Students are not allowed to become Day Scholars during the same academic year.It would be pertinent to mention that one set of rooms face east towards the rising sun. The other, opposite set of rooms, face the leafy green campus of the Polytechnic.


Due to an acute shortage of accommodation in Delhi, there is a great demand of Hostel Seats. Students are allotted seats only at the beginning of the year . Any student leaving during the Academic Year shall be depriving another Student of a Seat in the Polytechnic Hostel. Parents / Guardians are therefore requested to think twice before applying for a Hostel Seat.
Students once admitted to the Hostel shall not be allowed to become Day Scholars during the same Academic Year. If necessary they may not be allowed to pursue their studies in the Polytechnic.


All Fees are to be paid in advance.
Hostel charges once paid are non- refundable.
Students failing to deposit the Fees during the specified time shall be Fined Rs 5/- per day, upto 10 days. Students who have not deposited the Fee and Fine within these ten days will be asked to leave the hostel.
Kindly study the Fee Structure. The Fees are charged only for the given stipulated period. (This is regardless of the number of Working Days or Holidays. ) Students are welcome to stay before and beyond the stipulated period. They shall however be charged an extra nominal amount on a ‘per day’ basis.
Students may have girl friends at meals occasionally, with special permission from the HostelWardens. Such Guests shall be charged at the following rates:

Breakfast Rs. 30/- Tea Rs. 20/-
Lunch Rs. 40/- Dinner Rs.40/-


1. Students should bring their own mattresses/bedding,blankets, other linen( e.g bed sheets, bedcovers, pillows), toiletries (e.g     bucket, mug) , tiffin box, thermos, etc.
2. Students should keep their room clean and tidy. The sweeper shall clean only the floors.
3. Students are allowed to go out solely at their own risk during working days.
4. Students will be allowed to see visitors ( whose photographs are given with the application form) on Fridays, Saturdays and     Sundays between 5p.m and 7p.m. during summers and in winters between: 4p.m & 6p.m.. UNDER NO     CIRCUMSTANCES     SHALL A STUDENT BE ALLOWED TO SEE A VISITOR, WHOSE PHOTOGRAPH IS     NOT SUPPLIED BY THE     PARENTS.
5. Students will bear the expenses of washing and ironing of their clothes.
6. Students who specify at the time of admission: Vegetarian/Non-Vegetarian/ Vegetarian with eggs, will not be allowed to     change their food group during the term.
7. It is essential that every student of the hostel should have a living/residing guardian in Delhi.No admission otherwise is     granted  in the Hostel.
8. All correspondence with the Polytechnic authorities should be addressed directly to the office.
9. The Polytechnic will not be responsible for any loss of valuables or cash. Special arrangements have been made for     depositing  the same with the Warden.
10.Fees once deposited cannot be refunded under any circumstances or due to any reason .

1. The First Term Hostel Fee for the Second and Final Year Students is Rs. 9000/-. It is to be deposited between 1st & 15th     May, every Year. Failing this, no seat shall be kept reserved for the Defaulters, for the next coming Academic Session.
2. All Hostel Fees are to be deposited along with Polytechnic Fees.
3. All Fees are to be paid by cash/bank draft. Local cheques are acceptable. The Draft is to be made in the name of :
South Delhi Polytechnic for Women and payable at Delhi
4. The First Term Fee to be deposited at the Time of Admissions. The Second. term Fees are to be deposited in the Month of November .The third Term Fees are to be deposited in the Month of February. Any Student Failing to do, Shall be charged a Late Fees.
5. Fees are charged for only Nine Month in an Academic Session. This is a regardless of the Number of Working days nad Holidays.
6. If any Students Stays prior to August, then She Shall have to Pay Rs.100/- per day.
